Meet Elissa
Elissa Chazdon is the owner of
Relationship Works – Creative Communication Solutions for Families a therapy practice based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), licensed in both New Mexico and Colorado, and provides therapy in person and via secure telehealth for clients locally and nationally. With over 17 years of experience facilitating groups and working with individuals, couples, and families as a coach and now as a therapist, Elissa brings depth, steadiness, and clinical skill to her work.
Elissa’s therapeutic approach is grounded, authentic, and collaborative. She works with individuals, couples, families, and children, offering practical tools alongside thoughtful, trauma-informed care. She has a deep understanding of neurodivergence and disability in both adults and children and brings a neuro-affirming lens to her work, recognizing how nervous system differences, developmental experiences, and environmental stressors shape emotional and relational patterns. Her goal is to support clients in building resilience, strengthening communication, and creating meaningful, sustainable change in their lives and relationships.
In addition to her clinical practice, Elissa partners with individual schools, school districts, tribal communities, and other organizations to provide contracted services. This includes facilitating DBT-informed groups, parenting education groups, and coparenting groups designed to support families, caregivers, and systems in creating healthier, more connected environments.
Elissa has worked with a wide range of clients and systems, including private clients, schools and community organizations, churches, and individuals and families referred by educators, family law attorneys, judges, CYFD (New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department), and other agencies. Her work supports emotional well-being and relationship health across personal, family, educational, and workplace settings.
She holds a Master of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico. Elissa continually engages in continuing education to advance her clinical knowledge and skills. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
